Given the same parameters of the wave
distortion, any two images evolve to the same fixed patteren upon
repeated iterations of the filter. This kind of distortion could
therefore be used as a sort of transition between
two different slideshow images. Here, for example, "Tucker" turns into
"Dave and Pepper":
