SELF-SIMILAR PATTERNS
Self-similar objects consist of parts that look the same as the whole. Any small part of the object can be scaled to replicate a larger (or smaller) part of the object. This "scale invariance" means that the pattern looks the same no matter how much you zoom in or out from the image. Here are two simple examples:
